Best ADHD Assessment & Support Services in Birmingham

Oliver Bancroft l Last Updated: August 19, 2026

How We Selected the Best ADHD Services in Birmingham

Choosing an ADHD assessment provider involves more than looking at online reviews. We considered several factors when putting together this list.

Specialist ADHD Services

We looked for providers that specifically offer ADHD assessment rather than general mental-health services that only occasionally deal with ADHD.

Professional Expertise

We considered information about the clinicians involved, their professional backgrounds and their experience with ADHD and neurodevelopmental assessments.

Adults, Children & Young People

Where applicable, we considered whether providers offer assessments for adults, children and adolescents.

Assessment Approach

We looked at how clearly providers explain their assessment process and whether they describe the clinical professionals involved.

Accessibility & Location

Birmingham location, online options and ease of accessing the service were also considered.

Reputation

Publicly available reviews and other information about patient experience were considered as part of our overall research.

Finding the right ADHD assessment or support service can make a big difference when you or your child are experiencing difficulties with attention, organisation, impulsivity, hyperactivity or day-to-day functioning.

Birmingham has a growing range of ADHD assessment and support services, including private clinics, specialist assessment providers and NHS pathways for eligible patients. Services can differ considerably in terms of who they assess, how assessments are carried out, waiting times, costs and the support available after diagnosis.

To help make the search easier, we have researched ADHD assessment and support providers serving Birmingham, considering factors such as professional expertise, range of services, accessibility, patient experience and publicly available information.

Whether you are looking for an adult ADHD assessment, a child or adolescent assessment, or ongoing support following diagnosis, these Birmingham providers are worth considering.

Please note: This guide is for general information and comparison purposes. Being included on this list does not constitute a medical recommendation or guarantee of a particular outcome.

I had long suspected that I may have ADHD but with the NHS waiting times as they are, I felt there was no hope for me to get help.

I found Gurmat online and am so happy I did, we went through a long chat of my history, experiences, struggles and frustrations, and a thorough assessment involving both myself and other family members. He understood how I feel completely and said things that made total sense to me. He is very keen to put you at ease and really understand what you are going through.

I feel like this is totally a new beginning for me now, and it couldn't have happened without Gurmat's expert assistance and knowledge.

Thanks Gurmat!

I had a duel assessment with WMAAAS 2 years ago now.
Not for anything other than understanding of myself. The staff were professional, kind, compassionate and patient. There is a reason the price is higher than most and this is due to the depth of face to face assessments and the professionalism involved. They follow NICE guidelines and their assessments are recognised within the NHS.
Thanks so much for everything.

Everyone I spoke to at the Autism Service was friendly and helpful. The assessments they conducted were thorough and followed the NICE guidelines. The feedback and report following the assessments were comprehensive; they took everything into consideration before coming to their conclusions. Following my diagnosis, the clinicians signposted me to support and resources to help me understand my diagnosis better. Such a positive experience from start to finish. We had been waiting three years for an NHS Assessment and decided to go private for our daughter. From the start, there was a detailed plan in place. I knew what was going on at every stage and the whole process was quick and well informed. We have finally been listened to and have a report that helps us to provide the help and guidance our daughter deserves. Thank you!

Needed an urgent appointment for my daughter which I was able to find promptly. I saw Dr. Hasan who was super kind, understanding and helpful. She talked to my daughter and I about her ongoing issues and was able to provide the relevant support needed to help her.
I was also very much impressed by the institution itself, it was clean and spacious and the staff were lovely. The place was easy to find. There was street parking available just a few steps away when I arrived which was very convenient.
Absolutely recommend house if health and Dr. Hasan
